Product Review: Vanish PFB + Chromabright

Whether your preferred choice of hair removal for your bikini area is shaving, waxing, laser hair removal etc. chances are you might still occasionally get ingrown hairs. I know this can be very annoying and unattractive for most ladies as these ingrown hairs tend to leave dark marks or just create discolouration of the area generally. Girl, trust me, I understand your struggle and that is the reason why I am doing this blog post. I want to let you in on a major key that has helped me to achieve my ideal bikini line area over the years.

My preferred choice of hair removal is waxing. I get a Brazilian wax about ever 3 – 4 weeks, yea I know, painful…but so worth it! Vanish PFB + Chromabright is a product that I have been using for about 3 years now and trust me, IT WORKS, HOLY GRAIL!!! I will tell you a bit about the product and let you know how I use it. However, please remember that we all have different skin types and my results or reaction to the product may be different from yours. I am just here sharing with you what has been working for me.

THE PRODUCT

Vanish PFB + Chromabright is a clear liquid and it comes in a bottle with a roll-on head. Although I like the roll-on head because it makes it easy to apply; the downside is that it makes it easy for bacteria to seep in the bottle. I do think that they should think about changing the applicator for that reason. However, to minimise this I would urge you to only apply it to clean skin.

The product does carry a somewhat strong chemical scent, but it fades fast once it is applied. When you first apply the product you might feel a slight sting or burn. This burning sensation fades after about 40 seconds or so depending on your level of skin sensitivity of course. Once applied I find that the product takes about 4 mins to dry down completely.

I purchased mine from amazon here.  However, you can also get it locally as well. The Waxing Studio in Hagley Park Plaza generally have them in stock for $3700.

HOW I USE IT

I use this product in between my waxing sessions, which I apply only on my bikini line. What I would do is exfoliate the area properly when taking a shower and after drying the area I would apply the product and let it dry before getting dressed. I do this twice a day for 3 weeks. Usually I do not apply it the week before my next wax session. I use that week to give my skin a break and allow my skin to peel. Also I find that by giving it a break the area is less sensitive when  I am getting a wax. Once the area is ideally how I want it to be I would take a break from using the product for a few weeks or I would reduce the amount of time I use it. Meaning, instead of using it twice a day, I would use it once or every other day etc.

RESULTS

I know what you are thinking – Shannon, where are the before and after pictures – But …hmmm, no, we are not doing that today. I am sure if you do a google search you will definitely find some. However, what I can say is that it works!

Yes, your skin will peel, but it is nothing to be alarmed about. This means that the product is working and it is removing the dark discoloured layer of the skin. But you have to remember to constantly exfoliate to get rid of the dead skin. And girl, what is revealed after the peeling is completed is a smooth, bump free, evenly toned bikini line. For me I usually see results after two weeks of using it constantly. Of course the longer you use it for the better the results.

You can also use it on other areas of the skin too, like your underarm. I have seen where persons have gotten great results using it on their underarm and on their face. Men can also use the product as well.

I highly recommend this product. It is a staple in my beauty routine and I am sure you will love it too. I really hope this recommendation helps someone out there suffering from ingrown hair issues.

Talk to you soon…bye!
