When it comes on to Valentines Day I think guys tend to appreciate experiences more than a gift per se. The idea of gifting a man roses and chocolate has never sat well with me, so I generally opt for creating romantic experiences for my man. And let’s be real, no matter how much he says he doesn’t believe in Valentines Day, no guy is going to turn down their lady treating them to a romantic massage while dressed in sexy lingerie.
So here are a few ideas to spice up your Valentines Day for your man.
ROMANTIC DINNER FOR TWO
You could make a special dinner for the two of you. If you like to cook you could make something that you do not ordinarily make and end the meal with a sweet dessert. I find that guys tend to appreciate a woman taking the time to make a meal for them. For that extra romantic touch you can decorate the area with a simple red rose and a few tea light candles. Also, a nice bottle of wine wouldn’t hurt.
A few years ago I did just that for Valentines Day, and my husband absolutely loved it. I made Chicken Cordon Blu served with string beans and for dessert, I made chocolate cups with ice cream and topped it with whip cream and strawberries. We then spent the rest of the night watching romantic movies; my favourite being the Notebook. It was the perfect evening.
Luckily for us, Valentines Day is also a holiday and that means we get the entire day free to bask in romance. So you could plan a nice romantic overnight getaway with your man. If you are in Kingston I would highly recommend Serendipity Holistic Spa and Resort. My husband and I spent a weekend there and it was so peaceful, romantic and intimate. Serendipity is a boutique resort in the hills of Irish Town. It is the perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of Kingston. The resort also has a lovely spa so you and your lover could also get a couple’s massage. The river on the property is also really nice. You can both enjoy the day frolicking in the river; or simple spend the day laying in bed as they have the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in…til this day!
ROMANTIC BREAKFAST IN BED
A lovely breakfast in bed is the perfect way to start any day, and considering that Valentines Day is a holiday you can actually find the time to get up and make something special for your man. After breakfast, the two of you could spend the day in bed just ‘netflixin’ and chillin’. Now that’s what I call a chill and relaxing way to spend quality time with your love.
ROMANTIC EVENING BATH & PAMPER SESSION
No one will turn down a romantic and relaxing bath. You could treat him to nice relaxing bath and pamper session. If you have a tub, you can run a nice warm bath, add your favourite bath gel and bath salt. For that extra romantic touch, you can add some rose petals, light some candles and pour a glass of wine. It’s also nice to have some soothing music in the background. Thereafter you could treat him to a nice body scrub and a pedicure. I am sure he would appreciate it.
This idea is simple, but I find it can also be really romantic. It is also one of the perfect ways to turn up the spice on Valentines Day. For the romantic massage session, I suggest that you invest in a really good quality aromatherapy body oil. You can also get a sexy lingerie, put on some low R &B music and lastly, light some candles to set the mood. And as always, a nice glass of wine to the side doesn’t hurt.
I hope that this post was helpful to you ladies who are struggling to come up with Valentines Day ideas for your man. Until next time…Bye Lovlies!
